March 2015- April 5, 2015

I heard Coleman crying from the garage. Not unusual for him. I asked Evy to check on him since I had my hands full. I heard him crying harder and I knew something was wrong. I ran in and he had a small fishing pole and a hook was stuck in his pinky. Ouchy. I was able to get it out easily and he ran around shortly after as usual. Yikes.

Coleman trying on my glasses from 1998. Why did I ever choose these? Were these really cute at some point? I keep them in my car in case I ever lose my current glasses and need them urgently but it's an old prescription and they're hideous.

Nelson helped the kids build a little fort in the backyard next to the canal. They like to explore in the bushes. Well you can tell Evy went exploring. Wowsers. This took forever to get out. Tons of detangler and combing. Then a long shower.

March 26, Gene and Karlene coming to visit. Coleman zonked out like this.

April 4th. My family came to hang out for Easter. My dad slipped over to Smithfield Implement and got himself these overalls. Wow. I mean, wow.

Nelson and a very pregnant me. This was my last week of work before maternity leave and boy did I work. I worked every single day. I went out with a bang. Then I had a full week off before the baby came. I thought he would come any day since Coleman came early so I was worried to do so many home visits. All was well though.

April 4th we went to Big J's for dinner while the men went to priesthood. I introduced my mom and Maggie to it and they did not see how truly spectacular it really is. I likened it to living in K-town growing up and hitting Fiesta Ole. Sometimes it's just awesome cuz it's your local joint.

While we were busy, Coleman decided to start dying eggs on his own. He shoved a bunch in a bowl and got food coloring and starting squeezing it onto the eggs. He's innovative, that one.

Maggie and I snuck my dad's overalls on while he went to Priesthood. I am seven days away from my due date here.

February 2015

February 4th at Intermountain Medical Center. Maggie came to hang out with me while Nelson had surgery. I got the chance to help her study anatomy on her laptop by quizzing her. Zzzzz.....Casey and Melanie came to visit me too. Then Darren came that night to help Nelson.

February 6th I was making waffles with my kids for breakfast. I couldn't find the lid to the oil after I used it. Pregnant lady problems.

 

Nelson couldn't use his left arm much after surgery but he was still able to attack voles in the yard with his right arm. He was obsessed and made me help. It was nasty.

Our friends brought us ice cream to cheer Nelson up and we told him "Life is like a bowl of cherries." Whatever that means. I have yet to know.

Millville Park on a Sunday afternoon. It was such a nice February.

This is Pete, our neighborhood grocer. We took a field trip to Lee's Marketplace for joyschool. We got donuts and that's the most important part. He let the kids pick out a donut and then said "Your turn, Moms" and we all cheered.  He's showing the kids how the bakers were making roses out of frosting. Notice how Evy is always taller than all the other kids?

Coleman falls asleep in a weird place and or position almost daily. So I have a bazillion photos of him just waiting for a collage.

On Valentine's Day we went with the DeWitts to the Ogden Fish Farm. Major romantic.

Look at how Coleman stands near the ponds. I didn't get to relax for a minute. Mom woes. He also took off running a million times towards the next deep pond.

Evy got to go to a Kindergarten prep class for parents with me. She's super excited to start. She'll be 6 right after it starts. I loved looking at all the crazy made up Utah kids' names on their totes.

We had dinner at Casey's one night and he made Asian food. He gave Evy dried seaweed and told her it was chips and she fell for it. Here she is chomping away.

Well folks, we joined the minivan club and I am happy to be a member. I can fit so much crap and so many hoodlums in here. It's fantastic. I might be a nerd but I saw a teenage boy driving a mini van right after I bought it and I thought to myself, "At least I am not him." One thing is for sure, I can't ever think someone might be checking me out. I know I will always be mistaken.

We bought the van in Brigham City so we took a walk around the temple after. My stomach is swallowing Evy's head.

We drove to Lehi right after buying it and Evy took this picture of me on our way down. I laughed when I found it in my phone because it screams "mini van mom".

We went with my friends Jessica, Kim and their kids to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point. We forgot to take a picture of all of us pregnant. Oh well. Let's just say we each found a bench whenever we could.

Coleman. He's really into Star Wars clothes right now. Has he seen Star Wars? Nope.

January 2015

January 1, snoozing with Grandpa.

January 3rd, Johnson Lake in Idaho going ice fishing with Nelson's new ice fishing equipment. I kept it to 2 hours and made sure the heater was on in the tent. I don't love the cold. My kids thought it was fun but shocker...wanted to eat snacks the whole time. Nelson didn't warn me the ice would expand below us occasionally and sound like an earthquake or airplane underfoot. It's unnerving.

There was another group of people a ways away, otherwise it was just us.

We got a new computer so Coleman is setting up his "puter" just like Dad.

January 13th, we had to spend some time in Salt Lake for Nelson's doctor appointments so we took our kids to the Aquarium to make it a little fun. This is Coleman and Winston.

You can't see but there is a ladybug on Nelson's back. I took it as good luck since he's had health issues but that is another story for another time...and since I am the author of my own blog I am going to pretend all is well. Wouldn't that be nice if we could write our own storyline in life?

We watched the 4D movie about prehistoric water animals. Scared the crap out of my kids but I was sure entertained.

January 20th, Coleman's 3rd birthday! He wanted a pig party.  We couldn't figure out why but I obliged. I'm not the best at making cakes mmmkay.

January 26th, Coleman got his tonsils out. He did really well! He learned to hate medicine but he would feel so much better once I got it in him. I had to bribe him with treats.
