Bear Lake June 8-9, 2012

We went to Bear Lake overnight this weekend. Nelson's parents were there as well as his sister Cheryl's family. This is us on the boardwalk at the beach. The water is so high there really isn't a beach to play on. We used to have to walk aways to get to this point from the water. This is actually around 9:30 am but it looks like the evening.

Cheryl and her sister-in-law Kendie. They did the Bear Lake half marathon. We all went down to the finish line to watch all the runners come in. There was a marathon, 1/2 marathon, 10K and 5K people were running. You could tell who had run the 5K because they had much more energy than the others.

Evy and Nelson waiting for the runners. There were some elderly people running, which put me to shame.

Hailey, Evy and Sara playing Guess Who? I bought it for the cabin because I loved playing it in the '80s. These kids were fabulous to Evy and played with her every second.

My cute little man by the campfire. It was a windy and chilly weekend.

Cheryl and Coleman the night before her big race.

Chandler and Evy. Chandler is the only teenage boy I know that is awake at 6:00 am on a Saturday.

Sara and Hailey roasting marshmallows.

We took the boat out for the first time this year to see how it would run. This was Evy's first boat ride that I can remember.

Chandler, Evy and Sara. Evy looks miserable but she really liked it. When we first started going she said, "Mom, I am scared. The water's gonna get me" but she finally relaxed.

Hailey and Evy. Seagulls starting flying above us so Hailey started throwing them nuts from her trail mix (She and Sara polished off the M&Ms already) Well soon enough, tons of seagulls showed up and the girls were screaming because they were just flying right above us forever and pooping. Ha Ha.

Fishing in Mantua 6/5/12

We took the kids fishing today in Mantua. Nelson didn't work until the afternoon shift and he likes to squeeze some fishing in with every moment he can. It was super warm by our house so we were all in shorts. Then it was kinda chilly when we got there. Coleman was a trooper anyway.

Nelson fishing. Evy was afraid to go out on this dock because it swayed and had no rails, so I had to hold her every time we went out.

Evy, Amber, Avery. When we have the two kids together we mess up their names. I called Evy "Every"

These were some honkin fish. Nelson told Evy to kiss one. She hesitated then went for it. I stopped her because it grossed me out. I am a wimp, I know.

We weren't paying attention and Robin discovered his fishing pole was in the water.

We brought too many hot dogs and hamburgers so of course Robin and Nelson ate them to dispose of them. Nelson had 1.5 hamburgers and 1 hot dog that Evy refused of course.

Chef Robin. I asked them, "Can't we just pack sandwiches?' Nope. Go big or go home.

Coleman when we pulled into our garage. What a little darling with a double chin.

Memorial Day Weekend 2012

For Memorial Day weekend this year we went to the cabin for a couple days with Nelson's parents then had a get together with my family. This is us today at my Grandpa Jack's grave at Providence Cemetery near where my Dad was raised. This is Jack, Kate, Evy, Zach and Coleman.

Evy, Jack ( This is who little Jack is named after), Kate and Matt

Coleman asleep. Just to clarify: this is my ARM he is lying on.

Coleman and my Grandma Marian McFarland.

This is what happens when men outweigh the number of women: a lot of napping going on.

We couldn't decide if my Dad was wearing gangsta shorts or capris, so he modeled as a gangsta for me. Those are pineapples all over his shirt.
On our way to the cabin. We were almost there. This always freaks me out when he does this because this was a main road.

Nelson and Gene like to skip all the famous shake shops along main street and get a shake at the local Chevron. They think it is the best there. Gene decided to get crazy and ordered a raspberry oreo shake for us. It was ok but I prefer them seperate still.

My handsome boys

We drove up St. Charles Canyon and the higher we drove the more snow we ran into. We finally turned around so we wouldn't get stuck.

Evy is finally potty trained now as of this last week, so we are getting used to her having to stop to go to the bathroom. I discovered Nelson letting Evy go in the bushes in the corner of the Bloomington Cemetery where his Grandpa Krogue is buried. This is when it would be a convenient to be a guy. Leonard has an old outhouse set up in Bloomington and that is what Evy had to use while we were there. She looked at it and said, "Mom, that isn't a toilet." Baptism by fire.

Uncle Leonard finally got to meet Coleman. Leonard is Nelson's Grandpa Krogue's brother.
We also watched "The Patriot" on Sunday. I really want to learn more about the Revolutionary War and that time period. Casey lent me the book John Adams and I am excited to start reading. Happy Memorial Day!

Mother's Day 2012

We went to my cousin Billie's house for Mother's Day this year. Grandma Marian and Ray returned from their annual winter stay in St.George. We all brought salads except for Allie. She was the only one that brought a dessert. I had bought all the stuff to make a treat but ran out of time to make it so I was mad. Also we got super lost driving down, Evy barfed on the way home, and Coleman cried a good portion of the drive to and from. We didn't get home until 10pm and our kids were beyond ornery. Otherwise it was fun!

Evy talks about Kate daily, tells me she is coming over every day, and calls her on her fake phone daily. I was glad she finally got to play with her.

Easter Weekend 2012

On Saturday we went to Hyde Park City's Easter egg hunt at a church near us. I want you to know all four of us were out the door by 8:30 am. That is hard for me to do when Coleman still keeps me up at night.

The hunt started at 9:00 am and ended at 9:02. No lie.

We went to the Buttle's for Wyatt's 3rd birthday party.

We then went to my parents' house. Kate and Evy did Easter crafts and decorated eggs. Evy thinks every color is green so she colored all of them "green".

We gave Evy her basket after breakfast since we knew she would never eat anything of substance for the rest of the day (and she didn't). Poor Grandma Elena tried to cut bananas into her cereal. That was a no go.
Ready for church. We go to my parents' ward by ourselves since they go to the singles ward. Evy asks on the way to church each week if it's time to play. She associates church with playing in nursery.
Winston and Coleman
Kate and Evy watching "Yo Gabba Gabba".
Don't ask Steve to hold a baby but he will entertain them. One of these boys is built to play baseball and one to play football. Can you guess which is which?
We had an Easter egg hunt in my parents' yard. We cracked confetti eggs over each other's heads.
Kate, Evy and Zach. They collected their eggs in the toy shopping cart Nelson's sister Crystal gave Evy.
Kate and Evy. Evy's hair looks like a big snake is running down the center of her forehead. Happy Easter!
