Christmas 2010

For Christmas this year we slept at my parents' house. Evy had been ornery for a couple days. Not sure if she was teething or what. She was out of it either way.

My dad had one of my presents specially gift wrapped! How marvelous!

Nelson tried to get Evy to open up packages but she doesn't quite get it yet.

Evy got a couple baby dolls, her own mini-computer, a movie and a push toy.

Evy tried egg nog for the first time. Nelson will mix it with sprite and then down the whole thing right before bed. Sick.

Too bad Santa didn't bring her a personality this Christmas eh?
Later that night we had dinner at Darren and Camille's house with Nelson's parents then visited Crystal's family. Happy Hollydays!

Ashworth Christmas Party Dec.19, 2010

We had our Ashworth family Christmas party at Nelson's sister Connie's house this year. This is Evy in her Christmas tutu.

We told the story of Christ's birth.

Paige and Linley always entertain us.

Amanda, Sara and Hailey.

Evy

We did my favorite karaoke. Nelson, Pete, Sara and Connie.

Nelson's Iowa whitetail deer hunt Dec.9-15, 2010

Nelson went on a whitetail deer hunt in Iowa. He stayed at a farmhouse by himself that was built in 1920. He has been wanting to do this for sometime because there are only mule deer in Utah and I guess there is a difference between the two. This is a picture of some Canadian geese Nelson enjoyed. No he didn't shoot them.

Nelson shot a doe and a buck. I hope they didn't have babies together that are searching for their mommy and daddy. Nelson said it was about 8 degrees outside with the wind chill making it feel like 15 below. (I'd rather go somewhere tropical myself). He sat in a blind all day by himself and froze. For fun!

This is the proud buck. He brought the antlers home and a few back straps of meat. The rest of the meat he donated to the Amish that lived nearby. It's a nine-point buck. This will be our third mounted buck and maybe fourth set of antlers that get to adorn my walls. His friend Tyler is practicing taxidermy and is going to mount it for him. Nelson loved his trip but is enjoying the warm, cozy fire.

Thanksgiving 2010

This year we had Thanksgiving with Nelson's family at his sister Cheryl's house in Lehi. This is Amanda getting cozy with Toby.

Karlene, Grandma Shirley (Nelson's step-grandma Ashworth) and Connie.

The Ashworths introduced me to sweet potatoes several years back. I will be forever grateful to them for this.

Linley, Sara, Paige and Ben.

Holly and Evy

My grandma Marian and my step-grandpa Ray came to sleep at my parents' house that night.

My mom made another turkey a couple days later. She usually does this so we can have leftovers. I found my dad eating his in bed. That's right folks, in his bed. Who would do this? Only Steve. Look at the struggle to cut his meat. It gets worse; he later came down for pumpkin pie. He grabbed a slice with a napkin and also took it upstairs to eat in bed.

Hollyween 2010

So I bought a wig from Nelson's coworker to add to my Halloween collection. She used to sell wigs professionally and wanted to get rid of them. My pleasure! I always am looking for a good "mom" wig. As soon as I tried on the wigs she had, it scared Evy and she started bawling. Well little did I know that this wig was similar to the top hat Frosty the Snowman wears. Whenever you put it on, awesomeness occurs.

I went to lunch with my friends on Halloween. We each tried on the wig and watched ourselves transform into goddesses. This is Kim.

Stephanie

Maggie really rocked the duckbill in the back.

Jessica.

Vienna was probably my favorite. She looked like a doll from the 1980s.

Evy

Mindy AKA her mom Barbara.

Molly

Later that night, Matt and his family came over. Zach was Harry Potter.

Kate was a bee.

Evy was an angel.

Well, Steve couldn't resist the wig's magic either. Happy Halloween!

Eminenema

I had to do a presentation for my History of American Nursing class. My group chose to rap our presentation. That's right, a rap. I did it on the history of the enema since I thought that would be a fun topic to rap. So I put my Dad to the task because he honestly is the only 57 year-old that I am aware of that loves rapping. He wrote and sang the lyrics, as well as made the video. Be warned it's a little crude. I also skipped the part with the sexy nurse. I was to embarrassed to show that part to my class. It was a hit. My teachers laughed and shook their heads throughout the whole thing.

California Sept.16-19, 2010

We went to Disneyland for the "Give a day, get a day" promotion. We made blankets last winter for children. Matt and his family went, as well as Casey and his family (minus Mel who is 8 months pregnant). Elena, Nelson, Evy and I also all went. This is Kate, Jack and Maddi in tomorrowland. Maddi practically took a bath in this thing. P.S. Captain Eo with Michael Jackson is back and it blew my mind.

Kate "tigger is awesome" McFarland

Evy threw a fit before finally falling asleep. Nelson forgot her big stroller and I was devastated by the news. Evy absolutely hated the Peter Pan and Pirates of the Carribean rides. If she could have said, "get me offa this thing!" She would have. She did like Finding Nemo and It's a Small World. She pretty much hated anything loud or dark. Go figure.

Nelson and Evy on the "It's a Small World" ride. She looks terrified, but I assure you she liked it.

Evy and Holly

Waiting for the parade: Jack, Evy, Sami (had a tooth infection), Maddi, Kate and Zach (behind Kate in his carseat)

Evy and Holly

Saturday we hit Newport beach. Evy, Kate, Jack and Maddi

Jack, Sami, Matt, Casey, Kate, Maddi (being buried), Nelson

On the way home we visited Aunt Shawna and Uncle Brent's home in St. George. I am ready to go again but not ready to drive!

Evy's 1st Birthday!

Nelson and I made butterfly cakes for Evy's 1st birthday. This is the one I decorated.

This is Nelson's. Don't let Nelson fool you. He actually really likes this stuff. You should see him decorate gingerbread houses.

Holly and the little lady of the hour.

Kim, Evy, Elena, Abbie

Evy and her cousin Sara. Evy also had a mouse visit. Ha ha. Poor Karlene found a mouse that day and was on full alert with traps everywhere. It made a visit at the end of the party.

Sara, Holly and Evy. We didn't have a high chair handy so we stripped her down and had her eat it on the counter.

She was kind of a dainty little thing eating it. She rubbed more on her legs than she put in her mouth. I thought she'd get sick because I don't give her many sweets (many people think I am heartless for this) but she luckily didn't eat very much. We also had homemade raspberry ice cream. Yum. She got lots of cute toys and stuff to wear. Happy birthday lil' darling!
