Thanksgiving weekend 2011

Nelson had to work Thanksgiving and the next day so I went to Firth, Idaho to visit my grandparents. My parents, grandparents, Aunt Michele, Cousin Stacy, Evy and I all enjoyed a feast prepared by my Grandma Carol.
The cute little lady herself.
Aunt Michele always reads to Evy.
On Saturday we drove to Grouse Creek to our friends' place for the weekend. Yes they do swim in that tub out front in the summer.

Evy on the 4-wheeler. Sorry, I couldn't rotate the pictures properly.
We drove into the mountains to find a Christmas tree to cut. We found this old abandoned fort that was used while herding cattle. I am so glad this is not my house. I figured though, if you had dirt floors, do you ever have to bother cleaning?
Evy playing in and eating the snow while they hiked up and cut the tree. I waited at the road and didn't hike up because I probably wouldn't have made it down being 7 months pregnant.
Kudos to Amber for sawing down their tree. This is Robin and Nelson.

Holly, Nelson and Evy. It is about 12 or so feet high. Our ceilings are around 11 feet. So we'll have to trim it down a bit. I have never cut down a Christmas tree before. It was pretty fun picking out which one to have.

November 2011

Today I got together with my nursing school friends at our friend Elizabeth's house. It is strange to see everyone now that they are all professionals when we met each other as students. We get together for lunch every few months and it's fun to catch up. Our friend Lori is expecting triplets. Yowsers

This is Kay, me and Mei lin. We have a picture of us in nursing school similar to this when I was pregnant with Evy and Mei lin is pointing to my stomach.

We had a cute nephew born this week. Winston, Maggie and Brian's first little guy. He has a cute color of red hair that will make him unique and adorable I think.

Maggie gave me a wig for my birthday because I love them. Doesn't Evy look amazing?

For those of you that can't picture Elena's hair any color than bright red, this is her in disguise. I think she can pull off blonde quite well.

As for Nelson, he has been hunting, hunting, hunting. Although he'll claim to you that he never goes. Whatever. Since moving to Logan he goes all the time because we're so close to everything and everyone here hunts.

He went hunting nearby with our neighbor and helped him shoot a deer. This is Nelson in heaven watching Evy pet the poor thing. Gross I know. She kept saying, "I pet the buck" and I immediately washed her hands. The steaks they gave us were pretty dang good though.
Our neighbor Bryan (who is our co-librarian at church) and his prize.

The Snows

Nelson recently lost a good friend and buddy, Austin Snow from leukemia. He is pictured here in front of his mom. Nelson met the Snows years ago in high school. He then served a mission with Tyler, Austin's older brother. After a brief hiatus, they reconnected and became inseparable. They both love to hunt, fish, whatever. We have become good friends with the Snows. They are a family we hope to be friends with forever (and Mandy's family the Marlors too). They have done a lot for us. Nelson bought his horse from Tyler's mom who Nelson in turn sold to Tyler's niece (where she belongs). We're sad Mandy and Tyler moved to Arizona (Nelson went through withdrawals) but we're planning on them coming back to Utah someday! Anyhow, we want the Snows to know we love them and are grateful for their friendship. Austin will be forever missed.
