July 22-23, 2011

We hung out in Salt Lake for the weekend to visit family and friends. We had a BBQ at Maggie's house on Saturday night. Brian bought steaks and salmon. Nelson was in heaven. Steve went ahead and licked his plate each time he ate seven layer bean dip. How helpful!

Evy took out her hair elastic, creating this marvelous ensemble you see here.

Holly and Maggie. Okay, Maggie's tummy is real. Mine is my shirt. How flattering.

I was the only lucky gal that got to witness Brian slipping in mud in the backyard like a 3 year old. Oh it was delightful.

On Sunday we had a surprise 60th birthday party for Nelson's mom with his family. Crystal did a matching game of what prices were in 1951.

Evy, Amanda, Hailey, Linley, Sawyer, Paige, Karlene, Ben, Sara, Chandler and Chase at Nelson's sister Connie's house in South Jordan.

Lava Hot Springs July 16, 2011

Nelson's family went camping at Lava Hot Springs for the weekend. We could only go up for the day because of my work schedule.

Nelson's parents, sister Cheryl, sister Crystal and their families all came.

Nelson and Evy. Evy swallowed some water at some point and barfed on my shoulder in the pool. I bet everyone around us loved that.

Sara always entertains Evy and it's fabulous.

Nelson wanted me to add this. This is across the street from our house. Nelson loves farmers and anything to do with farming. He is in heaven here watching them all. He wants to work in microbiology by day, farming by night.

St. George trip July 7-9th 2011.

We took a girls' trip to St. George for the weekend to celebrate my mom's birthday. This is Maddi and Evy at the restaurant Poncho and Lefty's. We tried fried ice cream with caramel and I must say I am a fan.

After dinner we walked around the temple. Holly, Sami, Allie, Evy, Maddi and Kate. It was overcast so we weren't super hot.

Evy at the temple.

We went to the Tuacahn to see The Little Mermaid. We were worried about the weather the whole time but it looked really nice once we showed up. About 30 minutes into the show, during the storm scene, it started pouring rain. Everyone was confused what was actual lightening and thunder vs. the music. The lightening looked awesome against the red rocks. Luckily it wasn't cold.

Everyone ran and took cover where they could until they told us whether the play would continue or not. Obviously it wasn't so we left. As we drove, we noticed the gutters and streets were overflowing with water. People that had parked on the streets near our hotel had a hard time getting in their cars without water rushing in. They refunded the money but we were bummed we didn't get to see it.

Everyone under the pavilion during the storm.

Kate passing Evy some goldfish during our drive. Notice Kate's tan arm on the right compared to Evy's white arm on the left.

Kate's eating a ding dong in the right hand and powdered donut in the left. Priceless.

Sami and Evy on the slide.

Evy's really into popsicles.

July 4th weekend

July 1st we went to the Cache Valley airport for a BBQ. Nelson's coworker at the lab owns a plane and rents a hangar. He threw a party at his hangar so everyone could watch the fireworks at Utah State afterwards.

The BBQ at the hangar.

Evy

On July 2nd Nelson's family came up for the Logan Cruise In on Main street. We got KFC and they gave us no plates or silverware. Lame.

Our niece and nephew Amanda and Chase

Cruise in. Nelson said this makes him want to remodel a car. Oy. I said no way. Get me a 3 or 4 car garage first.

This was Karlene's absolute favorite. She also loves anything with hydraulics.

Connie and Evy. Evy kept stealing Connie's diet coke under the chair.

On the 4th of July we went to the Lewiston City parade.

It was full of rodeo queens and of course taffy.

We were geniuses and locked ourselves out of the house before we went to the parade. Two hours later, our locksmith came and we finally got in. The locksmith gave us a coupon to come get 2 free keys made so we wouldn't lock ourselves out again. Ha ha. Later that night we went to dinner and then bought a few fireworks to show Evy. She loved them of course.

Payson Lakes June 24-26, 2011

Every year we try to go camping with our friends the Camblins. We usually go with them to Flaming Gorge, but we went with them to Payson Lakes this year instead. Nelson's parents Gene and Karlene also camped up the road from us. Then Nelson's brother Darren and his kids came up Saturday-Sunday. I can't believe we haven't been more often since it isn't that far from where we grew up. The first night Evy kept us up ALL night. We went crazy and Nelson declared we were "never camping again." Ya right. The next night, we squeezed Evy's port-a-crib in the tent and she slept like a dream.

Nelson was thrilled to use his camp chef. Seriously, he really loves that thing.

Nelson braved the cold and we all braved his farmer tan. Taggert loves the water and jumps in the first chance he can get. He was so annoying though because he comes out of the water and shakes right next to all of us.

Nelson and Taggert

Bekah, Linley, Claire, Ella, Halle and Lee. Halle caught a fish.

Gene, Wendy, Tony and Hunter. This is right where Taggert would get all muddy and then shake himself off.

Nelson's raft he bought for $1 at a garage sale. We kept waiting for that thing to pop while he was in the middle of the lake, but alas, it never did.

I'm not sure he's a "yellow" lab.

Nelson floating the kids around the shore.

Grandma Karlene entertaining Evy with the ipad. Gene and Karlene just got this new trailer for camping.

Darren, Linley and Sawyer roasting weiners. Linley was exciting for her first campout.

I had to take the marshmallows away because Evy was obsessed.

Linley reading her baby book to Evy.

Lee and Bekah's kids: Claire, Ella and Halle, then Evy of course. Notice the burnt chair in the background that accidentally blew in the fire. Lovely.
