October 3-22, 2014

Evy was taking a walk with neighbors and came home with a dog bite from a dog chained up in its yard that went after her. Luckily it went away and she's still not afraid of dogs. Darn dog.

It's starting to get cold at night and we need something to do. This is at A&W, getting root beer floats.

October 11 at the Willow Park Boo at the Zoo carnival. Nelson was hunting so the kids and I did some fun stuff that weekend ourselves. Check out Evy's Elsa wig. It was awful and I made her take it off and we took it back.

They had tons of games lined up with prizes for the kids.

They randomly brought out animals for the kids to see and learn about.

The petting zoo.

Coleman played pin the bowtie on Mr. Bones (not blindfolded) and did well, don't you think?

We met up with Grandma McFarland afterword for ice cream at Charlie's.

October 12, Evy helping me make homemade pizza. Both my kids love to cook and I can't keep them out of the kitchen if I try.

Nelson was trying to winterize the sprinklers and the kids decided to run through the sprinklers in  October. Coleman asked if we could keep this worm. Um, no.

On October 20, the kids and I headed to South Jordan. We slept at my parents' house because we were headed to California the next day. None of us went to bed until midnight because Winston and Coleman were bouncing off the walls or throwing fits. I woke up 2 hours later and laid there until 3:45 am and woke my mom up and told her let's go. I figured she'd just sleep in the car but she never did. I only took a 30 minute nap when my mom drove. We finally got to California that evening and showered the kids because they both had barfed. We took them to Downtown Disney ( a super long walk with 2 strollers even though our motel clerk said it was close) We then got to go to the laundromat to clean all the barfy clothes and blankets.

Coleman on the carousel. We were not planning on bringing this guy. He has tantrums from out of this world but Nelson was working too much to watch him while we were gone. Despite a few doozy tantrums ( never in Disneyland of course, that was too much fun) he was fun and I loved seeing his reaction to everything.

Evy

Evy and Coleman loved every fountain. My mom pointed out after I took this picture that Coleman was guzzling the water in the background.

My mom and her usual order of chocolate covered nana for a million bucks. Notice her orange shirt. She broke the no orange shirts for redheads rule.

Evy and Minnie. It was fun to see all the Halloween stuff. It was so warm too. We loved it. We kept packing around jackets and finally we started leaving them at the motel. Yes I said motel. Did I mention we are cheap travelers?

Evy, Coleman and Pooh. Pooh signed her autograph notebook and I said, "Darn, He got Pooh all over your paper." I am funny.

Watching the workers make treats in one of the shops.

I got my trademark caramel apple. One year I got one with Reese's pb cup stuck all over it. That was awesome but they didn't have one this time. Evy had a hard time eating it because her two bottom teeth were really loose.

Tigger

Eeyore

Coleman actually took a 2 hour nap during the parade even.

Evy loved all the princesses. She wishes she could have met more of them.

In the evening they started setting up for the trick or treating. Each Mickey ghost is where they set up a trick or treating station. I changed my kids into their costumes. Coleman woke up right before trick or treating started and jumped right up when I told him people were passing out candy. I am actually 15 weeks pregnant here (I think) but for some reason you can't tell very well in the pictures.
Why hello there, Captain America.

Evy was Elsa and Coleman was a policeman.

The trick or treating station. They had three booths per station and they gave you three things of snacks or candy per booth. We had lots of delightful candy.

September 2014

Coleman smashing berries for jam. We got tons of raspberries out of our patch this year. It was delightful. My kids and their friends love to go outside and pick them right off the vine. Ironically, Coleman had just bathed right before this.

Coleman swinging at the park.

Sept. 4th, Evy started back at preschool. She did not know how to pose for a picture.

Sept 5th, We went to the Ogden Temple open house. Coleman stuck his feet in the fountain right before we went in. Then he refused to put the booties on in the temple so I had to carry him the whole time, stairs and all.

Evy turned 5! We had a pajama birthday party for her on Sept. 6th.

Duck, duck, goose on the trampoline.

Evy, Rylee, Kami, Coleman, Avery, Maddi, Livia and Kate.

Evy chose a flamingo pinata.

Evy got whacked unfortunately when someone went a little too soon. Kids just don't seem to stay away when someone is swinging.

In this day and age of marvelous cakes that moms make for their kids, I made boring old fashioned cupcakes. I thought I'd get picketed.

Cake time. Emmie, Avery, Preslee, Kate, Kami, Evy, Rylee and Maddi.

Sawyer Robbins and Coleman

Sept. 8th, Coleman playing with the neighbors' chickens.

Sept. 9th, Elsa came to visit the neighborhood.

Sept. 13th, Nelson and I went to an Aggies game.

For his birthday, Sept. 16th, Nelson wanted a reclining camp chair.

We went to Texas Roadhouse with our neighbors, the Henries. Nelson told them he was 26.

I made a chocolate bundt cake. I loved the frosting on top. Mmmm...

Coleman helped himself to a chunk of it earlier that day.

Sept 20, Nelson went to Wyoming to hunt antelope with Gary Bradshaw.

Here's his prize the next day. Doesn't Taggert look like the body of the antelope?

Joyschool is back in session. Coleman, Livia, Evy and Sam. We have 2 more kids but they were out of town.
